Devin Johnston
My firm is still using Power Point to do all their presentations, we've had a lot of trouble over the years playing back animations for different reasons. We're exporting our animations as .wmv's because Power Point seems to have less trouble with these files but the quality isn't the best. I'd like to hear about other options for both presentations and video formats, we're all PC's over here so no Apple stuff please.
RyderSK
(Disclaimer: I am not personally big fan of these type of things, but..) Sli.do (link) is getting very popular. It's start-up 10 minutes by walk from my home.
Scott Schroeder
If you use Adobe media encoder, you should be able to use one of the YouTube or Vimeo presets that will create a decent quality mp4 that is compatible with PowerPoint. At least the later versions of PowerPoint. We've either just linked right to a private vimeo page with our video, or have it ready to play in an external viewer and just switch out of PowerPoint for it. Not the best options, but PowerPoint sometimes is pretty bad with handling video.
Devin Johnston
We've has some issues with MP4's not playing back smoothly and the guy's that do the presentations don't want to stream video so everything has to be local.
John Dollus
exporting the powerpoint pres to a PDF usually helps a ton with the video playback.
