Then just apply simple box UVW modifier to one column and then instance the same column all around, you'll get a pattern or repetition any ways. you can create a multi sub object with similar wood textures or the same texture but rotated and apply that to different columns. You can use the plugin multi texture to assign random textures to your mesh. You can use VRay triplanar text to orient your single texture randomly and avoid repetition.
