janisaufmanis
Hi all, There's the following problem: I tried to play around with DOF ( in my Vray Physical cam), then found out it's killing my time and deactivated it. But ever since, it keeps on taking place in my renders. Every time I stop the rendering during the Light Cache phase, it gets stuck on DoF. I dont know how to get rid of it. Just now, I was rendering an image, it was relatively low quality ( ~1200x1625) and I used the distributed rendering. The render crashed on DOF right after prepass1. Here the screen shot in the attachment. Now, all the time, I can not even finish any of renders from this file, because it always crashes on DoF. PS I also reset and reasigned rendered, but that wont help. Janis
Chris MacDonald
I've never seen "depth of field" as a thing that shows up on the progress bar, as it's always calculated during "rendering"? What exactly did you press to enable "depth of field"? You aren't using Shademap are you?

What exactly did you press to enable "depth of field"? You aren't using Shademap are you? I have solved the problem for now by simply merging everything, except lights and cameras, in a new scene. Beforehand I did a lot of things, I was playing around with atmospherics and tried to add volume lights, DOF, environment fog etc. But I removed all of those effects from any slots. Particularly the DOF, I checked the DOF slot in my camera settings, checked "targeted" and "specify focus" and, of course, specified the focus. Also, I unchecked all possible slots mentioning anything about DOF, focus etc.
