chrisclocher
I am rendering a building that has wood clapboards. Is it best to use a clapboard material or is there away to easily do clapboards in the model?
trhoads
Try lofting the shape of the siding, around the perimeter of your building. I usually draw the shape of the siding, the entire height of the wall, and then loft it around. Looks much better than a material to me. Just a thought. chrisclocher
I never thought of that. That is alot better than making each clapboard individual, and it looks a hell of alot better than the materials that I had. THANKS.
trhoads
Glad I could help. I came up against wood siding a while back, and wrestled with the best method. This method does result in a lot more faces and the like, but it looks good. My result is posted below.
