saeedsh
Hi, I used to be a guest just reading threads at CGA, but I decided that I'd join the community. I'm an architecture student and been using v-ray for almost a year. here is my problem: I was experimenting and learning how to work with V-ray materials and so I was trying to create a material that would have some parts of it with a gloss finish while others are matt. So I tried to create an image similar to a bump map, however I wasn't sure where to put it... any advise from our respectful professionals? Thanks & Regards,
Francisco Penaloza
I am not a Rhino user, so sorry if what I tell you can't be applied to you. I know VRay is very consistent throughout different software tho. If you need to control glossies with a map (B/W) you need to place it in the texture slot that is connected to the glossy values. Be sure of put a black color as base and adjust the transparency of you B/W texture to adjust the intensity of glossiness or you can adjust the overall brightness of the image in Photoshop before you use it in Rhino.
