kristinaatanasova
Hi guys, So after rendering in 3ds I got this result. Larissa Holderness
First thing... does your glass have anything to reflect? Surrounding buildings, trees... ? An actual sky? Perhaps an HDRI will help. Also, make sure your glass is a box and not just a plane. Don't make it too thick either. Also, please post your glass material settings. kristinaatanasova
Hi Larissa, Yes there are some volumes in the model. I am using hdri but it doesnt seem to help a lot...I have inserted thet in the enviroment tab as well. My glass is box with 50mm thickness. Larissa Holderness
WHOA! That's pretty thick. I usually use 6.35mm (or .25 inches). These are my glass settings (which turn out pretty ok results). I used the blog from "The Boundary" found here: http://www.the-boundary.com/blog/2015/4/22/carey-house-tutorial-04-texturing?rq=glass
Lewis Garrison
One trick I do to is duplicate the HDRI dome and have the new one only affect reflections. Then increase its intensity till the HDRI reads better in the reflections.
