Tommy L
Hello, bit of a problem. All the computers at work have decided they dont like HDRI files. When you try to load a file into any slot then viz 2005 crashes. Apparently its been doing it about a week 100% of the time, but i only found out today and really need HDRI for my new project. The computers are pulling the image files off one of the computers on the farm, but we're not experiencing any other network trouble. Have we just got a random setting wrong or is it a glitch in VIZ? Has anyone else had a similar problem / got a solution? Cheers, Tom.

abicalho
THere's a new format of HDRs that's causing problems. Open those in HDR Shop and re-save them. This will most likely remove the crashes. Alexander
Tommy L
Hi, thanks for responding to my post on HDRI probs. Ive got a deadline tomorro, I need to work from an old file that i used hdri in. It wont open. Im using Dosch HDRI. Ive tied re-naming the file in HDRshop, no joy. I cant even bring any HDRfiles into file into a brand new scene. All of the 6 main PCs at work have the same problem. Weirdly, the laptop hasnt got the problem (!?) I cant find any setting differences between the laptop and my machine. Could it be openGL settings? You seem to know your stuff, Can you think of anything? Cheers, Tom. abicalho
Quick question: are you using the Bitmap Pager? Alexander
Tommy L
Is that in the "select Image Input Device" box in the "Devices" preferences when selecting a bitmap file to import? If so, nope, its on the default 'no I/O Handlers Found'. If thats not what your taliking about, let me know. Cheers. Thanks for trying to help, this one a real puzzler and is unfortunately a massive problem as we cant access any work with HDRI files in.
abicalho
Customize > Preferences > Rendering Bitmap Pager is the last option @ bottom right. There's a known issue with Bitmap Pager and Compressed HDRI. Alexander
