johnharper1
I just upgrade to max 2016 and premiere pro cs6. I also recently added working in after effects cs6 to my work flow, of which I am pretty new to. I just wanted to double check what frame rate I should render to out of max. This will be for a USA client (NTSC 1920x1080p). Should I render from max at 29.97? I used to render from max at 30fps and set premiere pro cs2 to 30 fps, and I didn't have any jumping frames, but this is a new workflow and software version for me as well as the AE addition. Can anyone lend a quick suggestion so I don't render a lot and getting jumping frames later in the final mp4 endcode? TIA
Stephen Thomas
It is always recommended to render out jpg frames rather than output a video file direct from max. Obviously you still want to set your frame rate correctly in max to get an accurate sense of timings, but really you are just rendering an image sequence. When you bring it into your chosen software just make sure the frame sequence is interpreted at the same frame rate as your composition and you won't get any dropped frames. I would suggest sending your After Effects or Premiere composition to Adobe Media Encoder for rendering (assuming you also have this). I usually get less issues this way and it has handy presets for a whole bunch of TV and web outputs.
