kenanakifoglu
Hi everyone, We recently bought a new workstation for our 3ds Max + V-Ray renders. Before that, we were using; Intel i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00 GHz, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA Quadro 4000 and 7200RPM HDD. New workstation specs; Dual Intel Xeon E5-2690v4 2.6 2400 64GB DDR4-2400 (8x8GB) 2CPU RegRAM NVIDIA Quadro M5000 8GB 256 GB PCIe SSD 7200RPM SATA HDD The thing is, we use the same 3ds Max and V-Ray versions, same 3d file, same 3d settings but the older computer renders the scene in 30 mins. The workstation renders the same scene in 1h 30mins. We use Irradiance Map and LightCache for GI, and LightCache takes very very long time to pass. I have no idea what the problem is. The only software-wise difference between two computers is the older one uses Windows 8 and the workstation uses Windows 10. So I would appreciate if anyone could help. joelmcwilliam
Hi Kenan, i'm no expert at all but could you press ctrl + alt + del, press performance tab and see if all the core/threads are maxed out (100%) during rendering.
