stayinwonderland
Just struggling to make this glass work well (specifically where we see through two windows and into the space behind them). One image shows what's behind the two windows (windows hidden) and the other with them visible. But it's the window that's wrapped around the far side that's odd. I noticed that objects inside this building didn't appear where there actual location was, so I changed the index of refraction from 1.6 to 1.0. I think part of it is the fact that the INSIDE of that window is reflecting the interior. So I'm kinda open to the fact that it's supposed to look like that. But it doesn't look right. In fact, I just now hid that pane of glass and it got worse. You couldn't even see the tree trunk!? just a dark grey mass. Confused.
Chris MacDonald
You haven't got your refraction depth set high enough.
stayinwonderland
just did a test. Default rerfaction depth is 5. I rendered at 50 and 100 and there was zero difference.
Chris MacDonald
What does your glass material look like? Try a super basic one with pure white reflection/refraction and pure black diffuse.
Francisco Penaloza
Yes, post your glass material settings, for your preview image it seems like you use some Fog on it? if so that will mutipli depending of how many glass panels overlap. dontorino
There is never reason to crank it up to 50 or 100..If your glass door consists of 2 glass planes, which both have shell modifier then the depth of 4 is enough. I see from the shadow that you have some kind of tree out of the frame on the right side, so that corner window probably reflects that, that's why it seems so dark.
