neil poppleton
With all our render slaves on w10 they now re boot whenever they feel like it which causes problems. Does anybody have a fix to stop W10 re booting when it wants. Tried a few fixes but non work.
rsuleyman
If they're rebooting because Windows is installing updates then the only solution I found was to switch on the metered connection option in the network settings. This makes Windows think that you have a data limit so it won't download updates automatically. Rico

Have you a found a way to adjust when not on a wi fi connection, thanks.
jameswhitaker
I've been having the same problem, but a quick internet search found this solution for making an ethernet connection metered - http://www.howtogeek.com/262477/how-to-set-an-ethernet-connection-as-metered-in-windows-8-and-10/
rsuleyman
I've only tried it on a wifi connection. It seems as though it's possible to do it an ethernet connection as well but it's a bit more complicated. Here's a link to a step-by-step guide I found: https://www.cnet.com/uk/how-to/meter-your-ethernet-connection-in-windows-10/ It looks fairly straightforward but it does involves editing the registry so make sure you know what you're doing before you attempt it. Chris MacDonald
I haven't tried it, but I'm fairly sure you can edit a registry key to defer updates?
