Editable Mesh Slice Plane

Checking to see if this is a universal bug.

In 3ds Max 2015 when I'm in an Editable Mesh and go into Edge mode and click on Slice Plane, I don't get the yellow slice plane preview to show me where the slice plane is and what it's orientation is.

I believe this is true for other versions of Max as well and it's a basic enough function that it drives me nuts. Am I missing something here?

Strangely enough, it works in "Edit Mesh" modifier too, so in cases where "Edit Poly" does not work, apply a Edit Mesh modfier. Note: Edit poly does not support all mesh topology without splitting some vertices etc . Thats especially true for complex T-type edge junctions. And it only happens in Nitrous mode, so it seems to be some glitch in the Editable Mesh slice gizmo drawing code

Anyone of you ever reported this ? Autodesk is most propably even not aware of the issue

Always report. I did now, but would be good if you do the same ...

I probably should report it. To be honest, I run into so many bugs and crashes with Max that it's demoralized me to reporting bugs anymore as it would take up a notable portion of my work day. I thought this was was worth asking about just because it seems like such a basic feature, and I believe this bug has persisted through several generations of the software, that I must be missing something.

Yeah, I too could'nt remember if we ever got the slice plane visible in editable mesh ( i know it being the case of edit poly)

But testing back the Max versions i learned that the bug appear first in Max 2015. What i know is that we never got a PREVIEW of the sliced geometry in edit/edtiable mesh.

But i can assure you that bug reporting IS important. Sometimes one has to be persistent though and being eg. on the beta (and report directly) helps a lot too
