Hi Vray users,

I'd be happy if someone can help me solve this (maybe) simple issue with viewport settings.

I have 3dmax 2017 and Vray 3.2 and when Vrey is on viewport is all dark I can't see models or texture in the scene. Does anyone have this problem or maybe someone can help to understand what I am doing wrong.

Attached screenshots for better understanding problem.

Thanks in advance!

From your screen shot you have VRay lights in your scene, so the only thing that it may be happening is that you have selected to illuminate the viewport with selected light. if you go to the top left corner of each viewport you'll see 4 options, click on the third option and change to Standard, then scroll down and choose lighting and shadows=> illuminate with default lights, you can click on illuminate with scene light then change to default light. then everything should be visible.

Also in the same area there is an option for scene light control, in there nothing should be selected, this is default.

Also be sure your render engine is setup to VRay, otherwise I can't replicate your problem, your material should not create that problem unless it could be a video driver problem.

Thank you very much for your help! I really appreciate it.

I tried lighting options but nothing helps. Also I think maybe it's a program error? But I am not sure as I just started to look at new versions of programs and this seems the only problem for now, as with rendering all is good.

Please check this screen shot. There is no light in this scene and the only material that shows black is vray material
