johnharper1
Didn't know exactly where to put this question. I'm running windows 7 and I setup a render node (node1) about 6 months ago, and got backburner server to start on boot somehow and it connects to the manager. I'm adding another node (node2), and when I put the server shortcut in the startup folder, the server will start but will not connect to the manager, unless I manually close and reopen the server. Now, here is the strange part. node1 works on boot, but I cannot figure out how server is running on startup. the shortcut is not in the startup folder, either in logged in user or global all users (program data). I've also checked the registry run key in both local maching and local user and it's not in there either. So how is server running. It's also not running as a service, because I can see the server window with logs and such. It's also not in msconfig startup. Anyone know where else it might be running from? I did something back 6 months ago to get the node to work but can't figure what I did to duplicate for the new node. When the server window is running, I can right click the icon in the taskbar, choose properties and it says it's a shortcut and the location is here: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Autodesk\Autodesk Backburner 2016 how can that location be running as a startup when it is not in the startup folder. EDIT: I just found it, I had to run it in Task Scheduler Edited February 6, 2017 by johnharper1
