Marco Manunta
Hello guys, check this image please: http://imgur.com/a/1vgKg i ve a scale/viewport problem specially with sketchup imported files. If in the viewport i m far, it looks good. If i zoom in, the surfaces of the model are overlapping and it's so weird. i work in meters, i export in meters, but in order to work on the model in 3DS max in a clean way, i m forced to use the viewport clipping all the time. the only time it works, is when i import the 3ds file without checking Convert Units. But strangely the model will not be at the correct size. I would have to scale it up a lot. So what i m trying to ask you folks is: how can i export from SU and import in 3DS, maintaining the right size of the model and a clean viewport too? Thanks! Nicolai Bongard
Reset xform usually works on this kind of wonky geometry.
jackbird
Sketchup Geometry sometimes also needs some Edit Normals modifier voodoo - IIRC the incantation is Subobject > Select All > Reset > Collapse Modifier
