sonnyholmberg
Hi all, I'm having a couple of old Dell Precision T3500 workstations set up as a "render farm" in our server room and they are connected to our LAN network. They usually work alright when using distributed render with vray 3.30 and 3ds max 2016. My problem is that as soon as I have any kind of xref in my 3ds max scene the render nodes won't connect at all. I just get the message "render node is not responding". It is not related to the size or complexity of the xref or scene. If I just have a simple box in a xref in my scene, my nodes wont connect. As soon as I remove the xref, they work fine. I have used render nodes with complex scenes and xrefs before in previous jobs. Was working fine. Does anyone have an idea where the problem is? Is it because of a bad/slow LAN connection? Workstation slaves are too slow/old? Something else? Has anyone experienced something similar? Cheers, Sonny
