Rich O
Client has a 3d model in Vectorworks Does anyone know a good method to go from Vectorworks to 3ds Max, preferably with layers or material assignments intact? He tried sending a 3d dwg but it was an absolute mess and no 3d elements came in. Edited April 11, 2017 by Richard7666

If you can't export fbx directly from Vectorworks, then send your model to Cinema 4D and export fbx from Cinema.
Ernest Burden III
You would think Cinema4D could open Vectorworks files, being from the same parent company, but it cannot. Just find some 3D format other than native and DWG to export to.

Vectorworks is able to save fbx as I can see (but also native cinema 4D format which is not necesary in this case)
