liorsturlesi
Hi, I'm have some very slow rendering times while using vrayLightmaterial attached to splines with color 25,000 value - is there any way reducing these killer times ? thanks in advance, Lior
mattcooper
It's most likely because you're using a value of 25,000! Why do you need it so high?? Having really bright lights and materials that are close to 100% white are both things that kill render times. It'd be helpful to know what kind of scene you're rendering, what other lights you're using, your GI settings, camera settings etc.
Chris MacDonald
25,000!? What are you rendering? A supernova?
jonseagull
I can think of two things OP might be doing: 1. Trying to ensure the linework renders as pure white; in which case the "compensate camera exposure" checkbox in the VRayLightMaterial with a 1.0 multiplier will solve the problem 2. Trying to illuminate the scene with the VRayLightMtl, in which case I would recommend adjusting camera exposure and/or using an invisible VRay Mesh Light (excluding the visible light object for shadow-casting) in conjunction with the technique in #1 for the visible light.
