I am attempting to create a room which is partially underground. Only trouble is, i can not work out how to clear the 'plane' out of the room without Boolean deleting the entire plane or the room itself. Does anyone know how i can solve this??

I would personally would go into the top view and select plane and make sure it is an editable poly.

I would then use the quick slice tool with snap settings set to vertex and draw the outline of the room by selecting the vertex of the room, that way you can just select the polygon and delete it.

 

I usually do this when creating holes in ceilings or floors.
