3rd party Models Texture Paths

When using third party models i am always missing the textures.

So I painstakingly re-apply all the textures that i copied to my working directory.

 

I would like to create scenes with many trees and plants but i have shied away

so far, because i don´t have the right method to handle that...

 

I guess there is better way to manage models and maps within the working dir

so that i can open a file after years and all the proxies and textures load correctly.

 

What is the best workflow for handling large amounts of 3d models and their maps?
