petterp
I know it's possible, I just don't have any idea of how... ...to make it possible in 3dsmax to walk around in Real Time, like in Quake or Half Life, in the architectural model I have made. Is there a plug-in that can handle it or must I use gmax? Here's a link with an example of what I mean. Maybe this one is programmed, but it's something like this I would like to make. http://eyecadchertest.inforce.dk/vr/vrlaunch.asp?model=tvbyen would appreciate all help! /Petter
Devin Johnston
You need to read through this thread, as far as I know this is the only possable way. http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/showthread.php?t=6911
karl zacharias
try the VRML export and use blaxxon contact(?) for a viewer...pleanty of tutorials out there on it....or look into the gaming engine tech, it's far better
mbr
It's a long, involved process to make something work in real time. You have to optimize the model, bake the textures, export, import, and hope it all works. There are many solutions out there, but it is involved (and some of the programs cost more than Max). BobM
To begin using walkthrough navigation, do one of the following: Press the UP ARROW key. Click the Walk Through button to turn it on. This button is found on the Pan/Truck And Walkthrough flyout.
chuck
i'll just chime in here... about he half-life/quake...half life 2 looks to be a very good engine for arch viz, based on the environments that was created for the game. the lighting, high polygon support combined with AA and all that add up to the best FPS to date in my opinion. i'd think someone is working on a walkthrough program for it...and the new toolset includes a 3dsmax exporter/importer for models/maps. chuck
