nodar1978
Hi Guys. I made a 3D model in 3ds max, and gave it to my client, they add some texture to the model, and they say, each polygon gets a texture (so texture is tiled). Is there anything they can do? I myself have no Vectorworks and also no experience, if you can give me a tips i could forward this to them. Thank you very much in advance Nodar
Nicolai Bongard
Perhaps this will help them out? - Applying Textures In this video, we will how to apply textures to objects. Then, we will use the Attribute Mapping tool to adjust the mapping of a texture. http://www.vectorworks.net/training/2016/getting-started-guides/renderworks/Gsg-2016-r09-applying-textures
nodar1978
Thank you very much Nicolai. Will try, and lets see. I found also this one, from minute 5 he starts talking about the same problem what my client has: many thanks Nodar
Nicolai Bongard
Perhaps it is the UVW mapping that is wrong then? Not sure if it gets carrier over to vectorworks from max, but you can try to apply UVW map modifiers on your geometry then collapse it down, and see if the exported geometry behaves better when it comes to textures in vectorworks. nodar1978
I think UVW mapping in max can help, but models are many to do, price i made only for modeling, and quit low. I think they can also apply UVW map in Vectorworks itself. Hopefully. because if i apply UVW map modifiers to each model, it will take a while i think? Thank you Nicolai Greetings, Nodar
Nicolai Bongard
You could perhaps select all your geometry in max and apply a UVW map modifier with box mapping and real world coordinates with them all selected, that should maybe do the trick.
