jasminyes
hey guys, I have a huge problem with the lighting and am unable to solve it for a while now. I use cinema r18 and vray 3.4 . No matter what I do it just looks unrealistic. The materials look flat, even though there is nothing wrong with them. I use a simple sunny hdri from peter guthrie, adjusted exposure and rgb color profile, gamma value of 0,7-0,8. Any help is much appreciated. Devin Johnston
Your problem is that you don't have a complete scene, you can't expect an architectural scene to look real if you have no environment.
Marco Manunta
yes definitely true what Devin said...is it realistic that situation ? the height of the point of view ? did you've ever seen something like this in the real world ? i don't think so. First start by adding some context, and you will see that the light will appear much more realistic..
SkylineArch
Your materials look flat as well. Remember,
jasminyes
Thank you all!!! I'll look at the fresnel thanks , and since I have a new vray version I had AO switched off. I changed materials and now it looks much better. And yes, I have taken away the grass because for test renderings like this it would take too long. Chris MacDonald
since I have a new vray version I had AO switched off. It should be. AO is out-dated and ugly, aside from in very specific situations.
