Ramon Aranguren
Well Hello coleagues! I seem to have problems with this photomontage thing... I'm trying to make a render of a house exterior and mix it with a real photographbut there are som trees in front of it, and no matter how hard I try it's too difficult to get it right, there's always some "leaking" of the background bettween the tree's leaves! I was wondering if there is some other way or should I have more patience? and be more accurate qhen erasing my redered image? Feel free to write the answer and/or correct my english! edd radcliffe
Hello photomontage, mmmmmmm Having patience is indeed the correct way and also, DO NOT ERASE ANYTHING!! I can not stress that enough. When you render your final image from your chosen package, make sure you render to a format that supports alpha channels, ie. TIFF or TGA. Then, open that image in photoshop, select the alpha channel and apply a layer mask. (you may have to make a copy of the layer) Then you can drop a sky behind the image no probs. If you are unaware of layer masks, goto help and learn them. For your trees, there are products available wich have pre made alphas with them so you dont have to sit there for hours on end painting out the background. I gues the bottom line is, use alphas, use layer masks and if you do have to make your own alha take your time. Hope this helps Edd
