Yuli Laz
Hi all, i have 3d max 2018 version. And it seems running weird. It is legit version. But it freezes all the time in viewport during work. Does anyone has same issue?
Francisco Penaloza
check your video card drivers, if you have viewport problems it may be your video card. Yes, 3D MAx 2018 has lots of problems, just like every version of Max. Check also if you have all services pack and patches, (there are not many for this version)
neil poppleton
we tend never to use software until a handful of service packs have been issued, tend to update software yearly but the version will be 12 - 24 months old, once all the bugs have been ironed out, shame really but keeps us happy in the studio with few if any crashes

Josef Wienerroither
Max 2018 is pretty stable for me. And there are already 4 SP's out for Max 2018. So i do not understand the statement that there are not many out for Max 2018. I' m still on W7 though, and i got the impression that W10 produces problems for some users, especially viewport related I 've read about a significant amount of people got viewport slowdowns because of some defective UI configs. So at first i would try to reset your ribbon config to defaults ( RMB menu on the ribbon->Ribbon Configuration->Reset Ribbon to default ) and restart 3ds Max. This solved the slowdowns for some people. If it does not work for you, i would close Max, rename my 3ds Max ENU folder in the user directoy to something else ( just for backup purposes ) and start Max again and see whether the slowdown still exists If no, you got the root of the problem and it will be best to simply reconfigure your 3ds Max to your preferences from the ground up
