johnwill
Hello, i'm new to interior/exterior arch.viz. Is there any guidance, advice when applying texture onto the plain grey 3D models? Or you will refer to photos or any kinds of interior/exterior styles? As 3D artist for arch.viz, do you just model and render the model based on an existing image of interior/exterior with preset texture/lighting? Francisco Penaloza
Hi John, In my experience, an Arch-Viz professional will work closely with designers/Architects or any person who hires you or work as part of a team. There are on some occasions that they will work freely in the creation of an image just to help to visualize a concept given by someone else. (Napkin sketch type of project) Now there are times that you are the designer/architect or whatever so you decide what the heck you want to showcase As an entry level Artist, you'll be expected to follow Design plans and materials given by a designer and work with him/her to develop the images or videos. Later on, as you grow as professional you'll have more flexibility and input regarding what can be done and how, and in some cases also give design input, but again that varies with who you work. If you are very new to this and don't know anybody that could share a project with you. Search for a project on websites such Archdaily or so, then pick a project and get as much info as you can. Plans, Photographs notes of the architect. then try to recreate one of those images or create something original and go from there. Best luck. Fco.
