Strange booting.

My new build hex Win 10 will only start on the second attempt.

 

I push the start button - it turns on but hangs on a black screen.

 

I turn it off - then I turn it on again and it starts up with no problems.

 

But it only starts up on the 2nd try - always. Anyone else ever had this problem???

It is a custom build?? or a brand machine??

There could be many possibilities actually,

It could be something wrong with the bios, some hardware messing things up, or if your machine is O.C. maybe some settings are not correct.

If BIOS is ok then it could be a RAM module failing or some bad on your Hard Drive.

Or something else, if you don't feel comfortable checking anything I mentioned I would recommend to send to a technician. That issue may generate a Bluescreen or a sudden shut down in the worst case scenario.

Assuming that you're using Win10, it could be related to the "fast start-up" setting...

 

But it could also be something totally different, as Francisco said. More info is needed.

Someone else on google mentioned "fast start-up'. I think I'll check that out first.

 

It's an older cpu 4930 build; 32 g ram; gtx 980.

That did the trick. Just unchecked the "fast start-up" box and now

it starts right up at the 1st push of the power button. Thanks.
