argiriskechagias
Hi guys, I am struggling to find an optimal budget solution for a desktop build. The softwares that i use is autocad and revit structure for rebar detailing and revit architecture and enscape for simple projects such as industrial warehouses and small residences. My budget is 1000euros and i am not looking for a prebuilt system. Thank you Argiris
Stephen Thomas
That is a tight budget. This is as low as i could get if you are looking to get a Revit-certified GPU. Comes out just under 1100 Euros. Prices may vary in your local region though. Nikolaos M
https://www.pugetsystems.com/recommended/Recommended-Systems-for-Autodesk-Revit-171 Here's my suggestion: 1 Crucial MX500 500GB, SATA (CT500MX500SSD1) 1 AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, 6x 3.60GHz, boxed (YD260XBCAFBOX) 1 G.Skill RipJaws V schwarz DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR4-3200, CL16-18-18-38 (F4-3200C16D-16GVKB) 1 ASUS Dual GeForce GTX 1060 OC, DUAL-GTX1060-O6G, 6GB GDDR5, DVI, 2x HDMI, 2x DP (90YV09X0-M0NA00) 1 Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming 1 Phanteks Eclipse P350X schwarz/weiß, Glasfenster (PH-EC350PTG_DBW) 1 Corsair TX-M Series Modular TX650M 80PLUS Gold 650W ATX 2.4 (CP-9020132) Grand Total:~960€ (without shipping cost). The 2600X will be good enough for single threaded tasks with its 4.25GHz turbo boost. And you'll be fine with a GeForce gpu. Most common users, especially with low budget rigs, run Revit on Geforce cards with no issues. You can do a little research about that if you want. Cheers from Greece! argiriskechagias
Does amd cpu come with cooler?
Nikolaos M
Yes, with the Wraith Spire, which is just OK. You could add an aftermarket cooler for better performance, but you'll need one at least in the 40-60€ price range in order to get better performance. It's your choice. I'm not so familiar with the 2600X thermal behaviour, but if you render a lot, then you should probably consider buying a 3rd party cooler. You could decide that after running the system for a while and monitoring the temps during rendering.
numerobis
I would still go with Intel for AutoCAD and Revit (single core performance) https://www.tomshw.de/3d-workstation-benchmarks/ https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Revit-2018-Coffee-Lake-CPU-Comparison-1052/ You need to decide how much RAM and SSD space you need. I would take a board with four RAM slots, so that you can upgrade to 32GB later if you go with 16GB now (RAM is still quite expensive at the moment, so if you don't need it now...) Here are four options with i5 8600K and i7 8700 - and SSD with 250GB and 500GB. I think a GTX 1050 TI 4GB is enough for Acad and Revit. It's the biggest GTX you can get with a passive cooler. abhinavmathur
Hi, Well that's a very tight budget but I shall recommend you generic parts and you can select any brand of the component: -> Intel Core i7 8700 -> Any Intel H370 Chipset based motherboard -> 16GB DDR4 Ram with atleast 2400MHz frequency -> NVIDIA Quadro P1000 4GB DDR5 Graphics -> 250GB SATA SSD you can go for Samsung or WD SSD -> 1 TB HDD of 7200RPM -> 600W Power Supply Unit. Buy atleast Bronze certified. -> Any mid tower cabinet like Cooler Master MasterBox MB500 You can either do DIY build or can contact brands like Boxx or Ant PC for getting pre-built systems, more or less depends upon you.. since you said you are not looking for DIY make sure you get follow typical building safety procedures since this will be the workstation and thus should be reliable. abhinavmathur
Hi, You could go for: -> Intel Core i7 8700 - CM Hyper 212X or any other good air cooler -> Intel H370 Chipset based motherboard -> 16GB DDR4 Ram with atleast 2400 Mhz frequency -> 250GB SSD SATA Samsung 860 EVO or WD -> 1TB HDD 7200RPM -> Any Mid tower cabinet liek MB500 --> 600W PSU bronze certified any brand. For pre-built systems you could have gone for Boxx or Ant PC but since you will be DIY'ng make sure you do wiring properly, not doubting you but concerned, as this will be your workstation. Thanks.
