zeguedes
Hi! Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but anyway. I just finished modeling a rocky mountain in ZBrush that I want covered with snow and now I'm wondering, what is the best way to texture it? The materials for snow and rocks should be very different, so how can I handle this? The mountain will be seen from quite a distance, so does this make particle effects a bad choice? Should I actually model a layer of snow to put on top of the rock layer or is it ok for them to share geometry, the way it is now? I just left some softer areas that look like snow between the rocky ones. Thanks a lot!
eduardasvuskvariokas
Not sure if this will be very useful if your mountain is main object, but if it's a background object think this should work well. https://www.viz-people.com/making-mountain-house-alps/ Although now that i think about it, no reason it shouldn't work on main object aswell.
