francissmith1
Good Afternoon All, This is just a curiosity post because we have a client who handed over drawings done in Microstation. Does anyone here use any software from Bentley Systems? if so what software and for what? Thank you, Respectfully, Francis
Chris MacDonald
Microstation is much like AutoCAD - we use both in tandem in our office. It can export as .dwg without any issues so your client should be able to do that for you.
Jose Negrete
Microstation was the first CAD program I learned in 1998. Also the first program I ever made a rendering in. I never used it outside of school.
Ernest Burden III
There is a function in AutoCAD to open Microstation files. I don't use either, but do a lot of work with bridge engineers, and they do lots of Microstation files. I hate those .dgn files. I used a timed-demo version of Microstation to export data and it worked, but its close to working in DOS-era software in look and feel. Bentley has a file viewer, too. Considering that sometimes I have this engineering work, I considered just buying the Bentley software. Their website does not have a price that I could find. I guess it's "if you have to ask, you can't afford it". Anyone know what a Microstation license costs?
