wezzard
Hi! I made the switch to Vray Next, but since then I got this weird effect of black spots in my refraction..this is a railclone object, but it also does it with a normal 1/2" box with a glass material. If I freeze the glass object, the chairs look fine. It's just in the refraction. I tried to put the depth to 15, the IM at high preset, LC at 1000 subd, caustic to off... I really don't know what else to do! Does someone have an idea of what is causing it?
Morne Erasmus
1) If you're on Next, defaults are best (BF and LC) 2) Use your render passes to see in which channel the issue is. 3) If you're using the denoiser, switch it off and see if the issue goes away. The denoiser can sometimes mess up your refractions
wezzard
thanks for the reply. I managed to fix it by using the V-ray quick setting for exterior scene, and then tweek the settings for my needs and it works now! I guess all it needed was a reset from my old vray 3.xx settings..
