Tom Bussey Posted April 1, 2019 Share Posted April 1, 2019 I've found a few post scattered over the internet pertaining to this. but no definitive answers. AE post production - 16 bit EXRs via extractor plugin, Vray ZDepth map. I've comped this over a solid black colour and then the refraction filter inverted over that, as shown below, to get the blur to not affect areas with glass. My problem is that the effect only seems to be blurring within the confines of the mask, rather than over-spilling the colours of the foreground objects on to those behind, as would happen IRL as far as I'm aware.
