xjapanese
Hi Guys, When you save a clean new 3ds max file with a simple box in it in the center of the cordinate system it saves usually 250k or max 500k. Once you import a scene or ( object) that is poluted or carries extra info with it somehow..even after you delete it and leave the same box it may save 10mb or even 50mb..or extra 10sek or minute to the save .. 80% of all models for sale have that problem ..FBX is and obj would not carry that problem so that is one way to clean things but very slow.. I have read and asked on autodesk forum about all that and the cleaner scripts etc but so far haven't seen anyone solve that issue completely ..usually only the big saving times above minute are what cleaner scripts help for.. anyone has any idea why is that happening.. jesusgomez2
With models you import 'dummies' or 'trash' you can't even see. I use prune scene cleaner for that prupose.
Jose Negrete
You can also check to see if you have the "compress on save" option enabled in prefences. My config settings reset all the time and I have to re-enable the toggle. Autodesk's support suggestion was for me to uninstall VRAY to see if this stops happening... I use the forensic script from SiNi tools.
Stephen Thomas
This is an old issue, see this post on how to tackle it: https://www.punch.digital/remove-notetracks-from-3ds-max-scenes
akshayarora
Even we have faced the same problem a few days back, this is some kind of ALC Script issue - Ask any Autodesk officials to share ALC CRP Scripts with you. Do this if your files are saving even if you say "Don't save" while closing the file? Also, you can do one solution - open any of your old correct files, save its preset and load that preset in that problematic file. This is somehow JUGAAD we say in India
xjapanese
Hi Thanks Guys! Forensic ( from Sini tools) did work !..I tried as I said cleaner scrips as Stephen pointed the old post but it doesn't not help with these issues.Prune might work ( though I had some problem running it had few crashes but the problem could be with me ) still I see in it's menu's animated layers but not helpers statistics which both two seamed to be the problem for extra saving time and size..!Akshay when you say "save it's presets" what do you mean exactly ..Thanks! Hi Nikolay - How are you? See just open any of your old max file which doesn't have any bugs or issues, save its render settings presets which we have button in bottom of render settings ( F10 ) - and load that render settings preset into that bug file - the issue is more or less will get fixed. There is only one issue, you need to do render settings again in that problematic file. Get back if issue sorted or not . Thanks
