chrisjoelle
Hi! Im a 3ds max 2013 user for a long time, and I don't have any problem about the noise in this version, it's just that it's too slow so I decided to update it to 2016, and I'm so new to 3ds max 2016, it seems okay at first when I render it without vray sun, but when I put the vray sun since i need it, my black metal material (attached photo for reference of material) suddenly produced weird noise (attached photo for reference). What should I adjust to remove the noise without adjusting the material subdivs to 15 since I'm using it in 2013 and I don't have any problem with it, only in this 2016 version. akshayarora
Hi Chris, I don't think so they are Noise - some white spotches I can see on chair material also. Tick ON clamp output might sort out the issue.
Nicolai Bongard
Use the vray samplerate render element to see if it is a noise issue: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3MAX/Sample+Rate+%7C+VRaySampleRate If this is not the case, use the RAW render elements (i.e. Vray raw reflection, refraction etc.) to see if the noise is visible in one of the different passes https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3MAX/Raw+Reflection+%7C+VRayRawReflection Then you can isolate the source of the noise to see what you need to adjust to make the noise better. Most likely it is just bright reflections, and then Akshay`s tip is a good one. Also try to set the max ray intensity: http://www.peterguthrie.net/blog/2014/4/vray-3-new-features-part-
