maxehrlich
I have a job that calls for a 60K x 30K rendering. I used blowup to render a beauty pass in 9 sections. Now I want to render a pass with refractive materials and would like to use render region to selectively render portions of the viewport but I am limited by the 3dsmax limit of 32678 x 16384. How are others working around the limits of 3dsmax's render size?
akshayarora
It's a huge requirement - sorry I have no idea how to increase that. May I know why you need such a huge size, just curious to know - I have one more question in mind, why 3Ds max is restricted to this size ( 32678 x 16384 ) specifically? Nicolai Bongard
This is for a billboard? If so keep in mind that the image will be viewed from a distance, so there is no real need for it to be super detailed. However, here are some links you may want to check out: https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/v-ray-for-3ds-max-forums/v-ray-for-3ds-max-general/22361-large-render-size-question https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3MAX/Rendering+Very+Large+Images https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/3ds-max-forum/how-can-i-render-larger-than-the-max-limitations/td-p/4081524 https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Rendering-Very-Large-Images.html Good luck! jesusgomez2
That requirement has no sense at all. For any wall advertisement or whatever you don't need that resolution, actually could be a problem for printers to manage those huge files. Anyway, render by parts it's what i would do... Lewis Garrison
Yeah rendering that big means they didn't take into consideration viewing distance. I'd check their requirements before figuring this out.
