davidlopes3
Hi everyone I was rendering a exterior scene with an hdri binded to a vray sun and there is a weird dark shadow on the terrain plan, it never happend to me, i am a bit confused about what could be causing it. I tried chaging the hdri, dissabled the vray sun, change the postition of the domme light, changed the texture from material, but so far it does not go away, its driving me crazy, i could process it wit post, but i want to know why is this happening. Thanks in advance. Im using 3ds max and vray 3.
akshayarora
Hi - have you tried changing the object. I think its a mesh issue, try giving some extrude to the terrain plan or check if you have made that with a spline?
Nicolai Bongard
It is most likely a mesh issue. Try to extrude it, or perhaps a smooth modifier on top of the stack. If nothing helps, try to edit poly to connect the corners of the cross shaped hole to the outer corners. That way the geometry will "know how to behave" properly. Casey Hawley
Turn off smoothing group for the object. Or you might need to turn the invisible edges that are forming the dark area. Or just cut the object into quads. Edited May 22, 2019 by spacecase
