Basics of visualization lighting

Hi,

I am new to this forum so really dont know that where to post the right thread but i will manage it ASAP.

Right now i just want to know that how to setup the basic lighting in a view. I have made a lot of views but cant get the realistic result

Might be its a problem of material but i just wanna know how to set it.

Please help me out in this i have a lot of questions to ask but right now i am asking for this.
