Marco Manunta
Hello, i was just wondering, how would you model this parametric façade in 3DS Max for a render ? is it possible or i would have to find a good grasshopper guy to do it ? https://ibb.co/H2X114L
Andres Saarnak
Seems like a job for a Railclone plugin, but there's definitely a learning curve.
Scott Schroeder
Yep, +1 for Rail Clone. If you post stuff like this on their forums, their support is some of the best in the business. It may take a day or 2, but they will absolutely help you understand how to do something like this.
Marco Manunta
well Scott, this might be the best way to describe a product and to put on top of my plugin-to-buy list. thank you all,
Nicolai Bongard
If you prefer to do it "manually", you could model the boxes/facade panels, copy them to create a wall, attach them into one mesh and then go bananas with bend modifiers and ffd`s, allthough that is a pretty "static" solution compared to the use of railclone, and not all that accurate as the dimensions of the panels may end up a bit warped/distorted. Railclone will probably be the way to go!
Jose Negrete
There was a script called populate panels that may work for this if you don't have railclone.
