Scott Davis
Any loaded component in Revit (doors. windows, etc) cannot be 'cut' by other geometry. You could use 'curtain wall' which is really a wall type, and attach the wall to the roof to get the configuration in your attachment. Better would be to open the window you have in your image in the family editor, and make the chages there to add the angle to the top, then Saveas a new family, and load it into your model. Even better, would be to make a window family with parameters for the 'angle' top, and height and width, so it could be used in a varity of situations. Richard McCarthy
I think the easiest is to just open up the window family you use and use create a void (mass->void) in the shape of the roof (basically creating a "boolean" in CG speak) save the family in another name, load that family just saved into the project and viola! Scott Davis
The void trick will work as Richard has explained. The void can also be parametric, so that it could be changed for various roof conditions. Be aware that this will just chop the window off. IT will not re-create the top mullion of the window frame at an angle. If you need the entire frame, you will have to create an angle-top window, or get one from the Revit downloads, or AUGI, or any of the other content sites. humfrez
thanks a lot, i was hoping for an autoamted way, but anything is better than nothing , the windows obviously need the top mullion to be any good, so ill just try to download the angled-top windows
nemeth_marek
there is no need to load some new families - because if you create new one from the old one you needed, you can create new mullions and rules you want this is much better way as in adt `cos you have the possibility to create everything you want and you aren`t limited as in adt
