Tommy L
Hello all, Anyone know of a good source for animated palm trees? A collection would be good, but I'll take a good single tree at this point. Thanks, Tom.
Scott Schroeder
Outside of what you may find on TurboSquid or 3dSky (which there are very limited animated options), there is the Onyx suite or even SpeedTree. A long shot may be looking at palms for UE4 that may come with the source FBX file that you can bring back into Max.
James Vella
Also if you have growfx there is some good palm trees out there which you can animate directly in 3dsmax quickly. Here is an example https://www.vizpark.com/shop/real-trees-2/?affiliates=
Jonathan Sanchez
What I've done is animate static models myself. You can achieve this by selecting a few random vertex tips at the palm frond edges, soft select to spread selection, add an animated noise modifier and tweak to simulate movement. Jonathan Sanchez
You can apply this concept to static palms models
Tommy L
Thanks guys, helpful stuff. I was hoping for a few stock animated meshes that I could clone and offset the timing, but I think Ill go your route Jonathon. Looks like thats the only tutorial on your feed, you should do more! Tom.

Guest Justinblack
Identifying species of palm trees is usually done by the distinctive shape of the palm fronds (leaves). Generally, leaves of palm trees are either pinnate (feather-like leaves) or palmate (fan-like fronds). Another way to identify the type of palm tree is by the trunk shap
