Scaling issues with Dell 4k monitor

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I've just got a new Dell U2720Q 4k monitor and I'm also using 2 Dell U2415H monitors. In order to have everything uniform across the 3 screens I've had to scale the display on the 27" 4k to 175% but the max UI is blurry... I've tried adjsuting the 'Change High DPI settings" but nothing is working... ie. you can get the fonts sharp on one monitor but they'll be blurry on the others...

does anyone here have the solution?

Thanks

A 175% scale isn't going to do the work. You should leave it at the recommended 150%. I have a similar situation with a 27" 4K AOC monitor and a secondary BenQ at 25" and 1440p.

The best combination is 150% for the 1st and 100% for the 2nd monitor, even if it's not absolutely uniform.

As for the UI and the font size you could try the directions of this video. I'm not a casual 3ds max user, but the 2016 version I have seemed to work fine that way, and the fonts were readable again

Hey mate, yes I've tried all of those options... but no luck at all... If I keep all of the floating windows on the one screen (4K) then they're fine, the issue is when i have say the material editor/layer manager/render settings etc on another screen, they're blurry but the 4k is fine...

unfortunately 150% is just a bit too small, i've got good eyesight, but the icons etc are all just that much too small, 175 is the ideal size for fonts/icons/menus etc, either way it doesn't work at 150% either... I'm on max 21 and nothing seems to be able to get it to work with windows scaling such that everything is uniform or at least not blurry from one monitor to the other... photoshop/lightroom/affinity have all seemed to manage to figure it out...?

Try scaling the fonts independently and see if this works. Go to Settings>Ease of Access and slide the font size to something like 130-150% and apply.

What's strange is that I have a similar configuration with you, a 27" 4K and a 25" 1440p, and I have no issues with blurry fonts, except for 1-2 secondary windows apps and some drop-down menus.
