Hello Friends, I am having a weird issue since last night on my Windows 10 computer. I downloaded the Fusion 360, but when I try to install this, I received this error the system cannot find the path specified. I do not understand what could be the issue. Has anyone encountered such kind of issue before? Please help me friends to solve it.

Before posting here, I searched online for a solution to the problem and came across this article, which suggested a few methods. I followed solution no 5 (Run DISM and SFC scan) and updated the hard disc driver from here and after applying these the problem got solved. Now I have no longer any issues working on it.

The error "The system cannot find the path specified" during the installation of Fusion 360 on Windows 10 can be caused by several issues. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this problem:

  1. Check the Download Location:

    • Ensure that the installer file for Fusion 360 is downloaded completely and is not corrupted. Sometimes incomplete downloads can cause this error.
  2. Run as Administrator:

    • Right-click the installer file and select "Run as administrator". This ensures that the installer has the necessary permissions to write to the installation directory.
  3. Check the Installation Path:

    • Ensure that the path specified for the installation does not contain any special characters or is too long. Try changing the installation path to a simple directory like C:\Fusion360.
  4. Verify Folder Permissions:

    • Make sure the installation directory has the proper read/write permissions. You can do this by right-clicking on the directory, selecting "Properties", and then checking the "Security" tab.
  5. Check System Environment Variables:

    • Sometimes the PATH variable might be misconfigured. Go to System Properties > Advanced system settings > Environment Variables, and ensure that the PATH variable includes C:\Windows\System32.
  6. Temporary Files Cleanup:

    • Clear out the temporary files and folders. You can do this by typing %temp% in the Run dialog (Win + R), and then deleting all the files in the temp directory.
  7. Disable Antivirus/Firewall:

    • Temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software that might be blocking the installer.
  8. Update Windows:

    • Ensure your Windows 10 is up to date. Sometimes missing updates can cause issues with installations.
  9. Re-download the Installer:

    • If none of the above steps work, try re-downloading the Fusion 360 installer from the official website to ensure you have the latest version.
  10. Check for Disk Errors:

    • Run chkdsk to check for disk errors that might be causing the issue. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type chkdsk /f /r to start the check.
