Ryan Thompson
Hey everyone, So, I've been knee-deep in this model (wish I could show it, but I'm not at my main workstation), and I've hit a snag with the corrugated roofing part. It's turning out to be quite the headache. I first tried using mrDisplacement for a straightforward solution, but it ended up causing more problems than it solved, like weird artefacts in my renders. My current method's a real chore: importing a pre-modeled sheet of roofing, extruding roof faces, and then attempting a boolean operation. The outcome? A high-poly mess that's tough to handle. Honestly, it's becoming my least favorite part of the whole house modeling process. How do you folks handle corrugated roofing? Got any tricks up your sleeve that could make this easier? Appreciate any advice you've got! Thanks a bunch!
Ricardo Eloy
Hey Ryan, which softwares are you using for modeling and rendering? I believe you're using Revit and mental ray, is that correct?
Ryan Thompson
Yep, you nailed it! I'm all in with Revit and mental ray. Even though I've been using them for ages, some tasks, like the roofing, still throw me for a loop. Got any wisdom to share on this, especially with those tools? Any advice would be amazing.
