Nina Orel
Hello guys, Hello I'm a beginner so I need some help. I would need help with the reflection as in the picture below. How is this render prepared? I wonder if this is an actual reflection or post production. I have in mind the clouds and the trees reflected in the glass. I have a similar project to prepare myself, that's why I'm asking. I will be very grateful for any hint. I use max and V-ray
Ricardo Eloy
Hi there, That's probably the reflection of the HDRI used to light the scene (I'd say it's a dome light with the HDR applied to it).
Nina Orel
Hi. I tried Hdri. However, the reflection is too subtle. The reflections of the trees are very sharp, dark and aggressive. Are there tree models in the background? I'm just thinking. Nina Orelia Edited August 9, 2024 by Nina Orel
Ricardo Eloy
I don't think so, really. It looks like a simple HDR, nothing more.
Casey Hawley
Use a large plane object, place it suitably behind the camera, and apply a nice high-res landscape image to it. Give the material self-illumination. Then you can play with the intensity, or contrast of the image within the material/bitmap settings. In the VRay Object Properties of the plane, uncheck Generate GI and Receive GI. The size of the reflected image will depend on the size of the object, the UV mapping, and the distance from the glass. Have fun!
