edisionthomas
Hi everyone, I’m currently evaluating different storage solutions for managing and storing CG project files, and I’m considering using a Network-Attached Storage (NAS) system. Given the large size of files and the need for efficient data access, I’m particularly interested in understanding how NAS performs in a CG workflow. Has anyone in the community used NAS for storing CG project files? I’d love to hear about your experiences, particularly in terms of performance, reliability, and ease of integration with your existing setup. Some specific areas I’m curious about include: Data Transfer Speeds: How does the NAS handle large file transfers and access times during rendering and other intensive tasks? Scalability: How well does the NAS system scale with increasing project sizes and growing file libraries? Network Impact: Have you encountered any network bottlenecks or issues with simultaneous access from multiple workstations? Setup and Maintenance: What has your experience been with configuring and maintaining the NAS for CG projects? Any insights or recommendations you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I’m looking for real-world feedback to help guide my decision. Thanks in advance for your help!
