Jeff Mottle
Hey everyone, Well I definetly missed the boat on reviewing max 6. Although I was involved pretty early on timing did not work very well so I never got to it. Now that many max 6 reviews have already been published and many of you now own it, I thought I'd put a spin on an article that could work out. I'd like for all of the hardcore max 6 users to send me an email so that I can compile an article that features the good and the bad about max 6 and your workflow. I'm interested to know about features you now have that have helped your work, your workflow etc. Stability that has helped productivity, images that you could not have done before max 6, etc etc. Conversely, if there are features that you think just don't quite cut it yet, or you have issues with new features, or anything that you think could be better let me know about it, but please make sure that it pertains to max 6 only. I want to try to avoid things like, "max 6 sucks becuase it does not have some feature from Softimage etc." I'm looking forward to hearing from all of you! AGAIN, PLEASE email me at jmottle@cgarchitect.com with your stories. Jeff
rendermonkey
my favorite on max 6 is layers, it finally works properly. a very usefull tool. the render dialogue box is cleaner, preset render settings i am fully dependant on. dislikes: with the addition of mental ray, support for radiosity, and the other gi renderer, it seems like discreet is just throwing everything at the user. pick a system and make it trully inegrated into the interface, from materials to lights. its not more stable than 5 i can still crash it just as much. thats it for now.
