Jeff Mottle
In the past few weeks I've received a number of emails from people who told me that they purchased models from 3dvim.com, but never receievd them. The site is now down and no one is returing emails from the site. I'm goign to assume that they either went out or business or they were only in the business to screw everyone. Has anyone else fallen victim to these guys, or actually received models they did purchase?
mbr
I bought the $100 (plus a peculiar $65 shipping charge) cdrom of their furniture samples and did receive it. I have to say that it was exceptional. Truly a great deal, to say the least. It has 1000 high res models, categorized, with 2 different sized jpegs of each model. I've looked several times, too, and am very disappointed that the site is no longer there. They were prompt in responding to my emails and I recieved the CD in a reasonable amount of time. It's the only source I've seen like it, plus there were at least several hundred more models and several other CDs with specific groups. Very disappointing if they are gone. Even the website was well done and the ecommerce part was intuitive and fast. $4-20 for a great model was excellent. I did buy one online to see the quality before I purchased the CD. If they do come back, I highly recommend them.
recon
Hi Jeff... I know our friend Andres bought some furniture from them... you might check with him and see how it worked out. Strange how these companies just dissappear off the radar screen. I'm still trying to find out what happened to Polygems.com, the folks who had the human extras product. -John Manning
nisus
Hi John, Nice to hear you are looking for Polygem too! I've been searching Sean for over 2 years now. A pitty really, as he was working on an alpha series of animated people with really nice detail... Somewhere like the latest lowpolygon-people, but pre-animated. VERY useful!!! Unfortunately, never heard anything for too long now... We also shared (a lot of) ideas about flocking scripts... Another remarkable tool if being produced well... Suddenly he disappeared... I wonder why. If anyone gets a hint on him again, pls mail me his address so I can contact him again. rgds nisus
