I Don't Know which best (Vray or Final render)

.

.

.

.

I know that they are both use same Concept of GI (bounce light between 3D Model technology, ' light trace' ) but not same technology( as developer ) .

So must be .... something scientific describe That..rather than sense opinion( description )

  • 6 years later...

they both are in a very similar platforms. both use approximately similar Gi calc.

I have not worked with final render very much. but once i was trying their geometry handling because i had to deal with lot and lots of highres instance tree objects. i read both have the instancing support in their own ways but finally i had to switch to vray because it was much-4 ahead as per render times and system stability and ram usage bars.

since i have done this test in the latest versions. i m bound to say that cebas has a lot to do in the core architecture in their product

thanks

Until today I haven't heard anything positive about R3. They added some nice features, but compared to what is possible with VRay and some some other plugins (even if it would cost ya), it's not worth it. GI and AA handling has not much improved and the interactive rendering lacks serious features and is very crashprone. Although fR may get better results even with a steeper learning curve, I will not upgrade because of all those hidden users, who are "not allowed to show their work....". This clearly shows that this package is only meant for users who don't need any feedback...just figure !! I need software made for artists...not for technicians !!

Well, back in 2003 Final Render would win hands down. But I think Vray rallied in 2004, it was clearly superior. 2005; what can we say about 2005? If you were using vray you were in the money. The slide continued in 2006, FR was just not cutting the mustard. 2007 saw FR start to get back into the game- so by 2008 it was nearly as good as Vray. 2009 now and it's a dead heat... And what's going to be big in 2010? Some say talent but I'm going to go with Mental Ray...
