Jonny English
I have my undo memory set to '50', so that I can undo the previous 50 steps. However sometimes Max 6 seems to clear the buffer, especially at a crucial time, and then the deleted object is lost forever! Anyone know anything about this, or how to stop it happening? Jennifer
That is usually after more complex operations, but I don't understand the exact trigger. I generally save or Hold before anything complex (collapsing stacks or converting objects, and so on) and save versions of objects that I may need to get back to a previous state. I'll have to pay better attention, but usually you don't notice that it cleared the Undo stack until you need it. Remember that with Undo, every click to select an object/sub-object is an Undo level too, and you can run out of 50 pretty quick. If you are losing undos to mesh and poly objects, get into the habit of using an Edit Mesh or Edit Poly modifier rather than editing the base object. You can rename the modifiers for what was edited, to better keep track of each group of changes. Have fun!
