Oscar Nominations...

Recommended Posts

Ok... very slightly OT... can move this post if needed... but I'm all giddy like a school girl.

"I, Robot" is nominated for the academy awards! I'm so excited. In case some of you don't know... I worked on that movie as one of the lead lighters at DD.

The other nominations are great too... "Harry Potter", and "Spiderman 2"... what? you say... Day after Tomorrow was not nominated? No it was not... and while I worked on that one too, I'm perfectly ok with that one... for once, politics worked. Can't comment anymore on that one. Would need to take it off-line.

Anyone, trying not to be self promoting... I'm just very excited and maybe we had a little too much champagne this morning.

i still haven't seen iRobot yet. nothing against you of course, just not a big will smith fan.

Will Smith is great! Don't you think Satan has a signed contract on file?

I haven't seen iRobot yet either, though it rides around everywhere I go in the back of my car. I'm supposed to trade a 'regular' format DVD for a widescreen one, never have the time.

Day After Tomorrow did not suck! It was pretty good. I wasn't expecting '2001-A Space Odyssey'. The effects were great, that's all that mattered to me. Other films may have better story, but not much gets blowed up. It's hard to get both in one picture.

Congrats, Chris. Drink up.

héhé... DAT fx were great, but that's not the sole I want a movie... And I robot... well... THERE is a great story... ,-)) Hard to get both in a movie??? Some people show it's not at all... I just think that in the movie business, the story doesn't matter... it's the fx, the marketing,... who cares if the film is good, as long as it sells??? and than... yes... some are REALLY great... for me, only ONE reason: story ,-pp (yes, I'm getting old and bored!)

Boy I tell you guys... it will take years before I can see either of these movies with a straight unbias view. I look at some shots and think of the pain that I or someone I know went through. I worked on Day and Robot for around 9 months each... when I see the movie in theaters... all I see if pixel here pixel there... bad pixel here, bad pixel there...
